These days, 14-15 seem to be the normal time for teens to go a bit whacko in NA.

I really want to be surprised, but ugh... it's beginning to be so common to have these kinds of kids. Does make me want to kick them a bit. Or a lot.

Well, at least he could communicate in English and had a specific academic goal in mind. Definitely needs to upgrade his "people skills", though. Twisted Evil

As I'm nearing retirement age in Korea (I'm 60 now) I don't relish the prospect of having to substitute teach back in some U.S. city, and I'm a man.

In Korea, I haven't met a rowdy high school student yet who couldn't be pacified by a piece of candy - and they're practically all friendly.

It's only very recently, I think, that some Korean students have become a little aggressive toward their teachers - especially attractive female teachers - as indicated by that video clip on another thread.

In the U.S. (at least in many "inner-city" schools) it's been a "Blackboard Jungle" - with some really dangerous young gangster types - for some time now...

LOL. my younger brother is 14 and i mean, he can be an ass at times, but he wouldn't do something like this.

It's kinda sad to see how faster kids grow up these days and the faster they grow the faster they seem to become corrupted.

You are right. Kids sure do grow up faster these days. The kid was 14. It wasnt until college that I threatened to rape my teacher if she didnt raise my grade.

If you could win a literary prize for a post, I would nominate this one.

Sounds like more a symptom of internet culture than anything. People say lots of things over the internet they'd never have the guts to say in person, or even on the phone. This kid seems to be no different.

Teacher should have slapped the crap out of the kid and later claimed self defense. Today's lesson, class, is that not everything spoken in English is funny.

They need to get Joe Clark in there (the principal made famous by the move "Lean on Me"). He worked in there in Paterson at another school.
