What step are you at? Is there a mod-chip in your machine? If not, I'd suggest taking it to Yongsan to get one installed first. You can do it yourself, but it's not something you want to try unless you know your way around a soldering iron. |

maybe im a bit slow but that site is a bit hard on the head with all the noob this and that. it says its for beginners and whatnot but seems pretty complicated.
i got my wii modded at yongsan a couple of weeks ago. it cost 30 for the mod and another 20 to get the language changed to english (i reckon i may have been ripped off for this second bit). it now has homebrew, something called backup channel and something else called geckoOS. the fella recommended using backup first and if that doesnt work trying gecko. dunno what the homebrew part does but so far so good as far a playing games goes.
i managed to break my first wii the week before by stopping an update halfway through whilst trying to get a version of tiger 10 to work. as the lingo was korean i didnt realise i was saying yes to the update. when i turned the machine back on it just had vertical green and purple stripes on the screen. luckily they replaced it for me! |

Changing the region to US is a real nail-biting affair! Takes about 25 minutes of whirring and clicking, pushing buttons and sweating. I don't even know if I could even do it again...so please don't ask me how!
Pay 20 bucks at Yongsan. It's well worth it to have an English U.S. region box. It's A LOT more difficult than soft-modding and installing Homebrew channel. I think it's really easy with the new boot hack (I can't remember the name of it...). |
