|
|
I am not a Seoulite, so I need help.
I have a friend in town on a professional assignment. We'll basically have tomorrow evening to hang out. He's staying in a hotel by Gangnam station.
Ok - so I know coex is around there and it's a big mall.. I only have been there once though. Anything interesting around/inside of coex?
any ideas on cool/interesting places to hit up on a Tuesday night in Itaewon or Hongdae?
(on sidenote.. what's the travel time by subway from Gangnam to those 2 and how much would a taxi cost?)
I'm open to all ideas... and we may just chill out having a beer somewhere, swapping stories but being single guys and all, if you know of a good place to go with at least some nice candy, even if unattainable (though attainable would be MUCH better), that'd be the best
it'll have to be an early night though... as I'll be working morning on Wed and it'll be a 1.5 hour subway ride home. (meaning I'll have to catch the train at what.. 11 pm latest?)
humble thanks in advance. |

Hongdae would be a long journey all the way around on line 2. At least 45 mins of standing depending on the time. Itaewon is a bit far from Gangnam too. Around to Sindang and transfer. Still closer than Hongdae though.
Depends where you`re at. The trains might stop mid-way through your journey home. Keep that in mind. |

it's been a couple of years since i've been in a similar situation, but my buddy who came into town on business enjoyed apgujeong. we met a few girls out on the porch of uncle tom's cabin who were game for a good time.
if you are bent on itaewon, the spots up in the alley behind the hamilton are probably still your best bet. my buddy liked bricx the best because it actually drew a bit of a crowd. cabs from the gangnam area to itaewon are quick and painless, so i'd just skip the subway if i were you.
your time constraints might keep you from seeing much action though. |

There is plenty of attainable candy anywhere in Korea. That's why it used to be one of the top sex-tourist destinations
I've heard there's a Hooters, but I can't remember where... Apgujeong or Gangnam maybe.
If you'd like to go more traditional, Insadong is the best place to go for that (on a 1 day stay) |

It`s in Apgujeung and it sucks. Just hit up the area around Monkey Beach and Rodeo. |

not to hijack the thread, but when was that?
outside of servicing US army personnel and when the Japanese were the occupiers.. no one ever came to Korea for sex. Foreigners were denied service and this still exists to a very large extent in Japan where the prostitution scene for locals is very very vast.
why would anyone ever come here for that reason when easier and much cheaper places in SE Asia abound?
btw. my friend gets action where he lives in SE Asia aplenty.
almost any time he wants. it's good to be an expat in something besides ESL in Asia
of course being a horndog, he's always interested in something "new" though. |

| Cab ride from Itaewon to Gangnam cost around 6,000-8,000 depending on traffic/time of night (after midnight is more expensive)/etc. Check out B1 in the alley beside KFC in 이태원 (Itaewon). Not really sure that anything else is gonna be too busy on a Tuesday night |

I thought B1 was a house music type club in basement of Hamilton? |

this was before monkey beach existed. i guess longer than a couple of years ago. it used to be a great spot to pick up girls in apgujeong though. do with it what you will. |

Just hit any one of the vast number of bars around Gangnam Stn.
there is no point going all the way to Itaewon or Hongdae. |

| I don't know anything about it, personally, but my male Korean friends tell me Apgujeong is the best place to find girls. |

agreed everyones first reply is always "go to Itaewon" there are so many bars and probably good ones in every part of town. Just walk around your area till you find something you like and enjoy it |
