Is this possible in any way?? I am Canadian and currently traveling NZ about ready to apply. I know the Korean consulate in Vancouver allows for a CD interview if youre living in the Yukon etc..
It would be a HUGE pain to have to go home to leave again. Is there any possble way around this?? |

| Yes, but to do so will require you to courier/mail your original 'diploma' (or a copy verified by a Korean embassy/consulate) to your employer who must then have your education level verified by the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE). When this is done, you may apply for a visa from a third country. |

To clarify...when you say 'employer' do you mean the school I have agreed to a contract with ? Once it has been verified by the KCUE, as a Canadian, I can apply for a visa through the Korean consulate in New Zealand? |

| MAKE SURE the Korean Consulate/Embassy in the country you are visiting will process an E-2 visa application; not all of them do. I once went to Thailand for a family vacation at the end of one gig, and had to make a separate trip to Japan in order to start a new E-2 visa as the Korean Embassy in Bangkok does not process E-2 visas. Call the embassy directly to check. |

Is this your first time getting an E-2?
I was told many times that if it is your first time , you must apply in your home country. If you aren't in you rhome country, tough *beep*. There is no way around it.
That was what I was told....maybe there are some loopholes. Korean immi seems a bit inconsistent. |

Yea, it is my first time applying and I did read on the Korean consulate website for Vancouver that you need to apply and interview in your home country. I was just hoping that there was some loophole as you suggest. Having to spend the time and money to fly home just to fly away again is ridiculous.
Any info from anybody with experience on this issue would be appreciated. |

Cruisemonkey , were you referring to a first time visa applicant or for re-applying? |
