Hey all,

So I am currently looking for jobs in the Seoul area (bleak, I know) and I have been emailing every recruiter I can get my hands on because I was always under the impression that unless you're doing EPIK or SMOE, you should use as many as possible to maximize your opportunities. i also was doing this not to screw anyone over obviously, it's just that i am not getting many bites back right now. However, I read a job listing from a recruiter that warned against doing this and I got a little scared. It said that they dont recommend working with more than 3 as the schools will see your name repeatedly and not want to interview you and also that the recruiters themselves help each other out sometimes so they'll know that you're doing this. is this BS or should i stop emailing people now? haha...

also...WHY IS IT SO DAMN HARD FOR ME TO FIND A JOB? i know the market is really bad right now, but it seems that some people have such an easy time and others can't find a damn thing. i got one offer last night...in Pohang. no thanks :/

Stuff is hard because we're in a depression. Things are tough.

I'd take the Pohang gig.

But look on the bright side. There's always the soup kitchen.

It's better to be patient with this sort of thing.. Even if you do get a job, it takes 3 months to get paperwork and a visa done. It's better to live at home with mommy, get a part time job and look for a decent teaching gig. Maybe you should look into substitute teaching while you wait. Get some classroom experience.

"Too Many Recruiters??" Laughing Laughing Laughing

Only when you can't remember what one told you. Or until you find one that calls YOU each night with details of the day.

Serena at Korvia did that for me. I was satisfied with her efforts (because they were REAL)

How many recruiters does it take to change a light bulb?

They have to call their parent company first to get permission and an offer to change it first.

Normally they'd ignore it for a few days, consider changing it, wait a few more days....

Never too many recruiters to pile into an open grave!

Seriously, use as many as you can. Tell them straight out the first one that finds me the job I want is the one I go with. Just tell them exactly what it is you are looking for in a job.
