Looking to get a Vietnam VISA for my upcoming trip and booked all my flights online through low budget airlines. I know regularly a travel agent would do it for a fee. Anyone know what they charge?
Anyone been to the embassy in Seoul to get it done that can comment?
Also, I did a search on google and some online VISA applications say you can get it with them and get your stamp at the border. Is that to be trusted? |

I did Vietnam this past winter and after talking with the Vietnamese embassy in Seoul, they referred me to a travel agent to get the visa. Evidentally, the embassy uses a 2nd party for their visas... Unless things have changed, they will not accept visa applications directly so you must use their recommended travel agent. Strange! |

I would highly recommend "Phat" [email protected]. He's from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) He's really trustworthy. Had my visa done a day after contacting him. He does all the work, I didn't have to do anything. One month visa for $20 plus $25 at HCMC immigration(takes about 10 minutes) he can do any other types of visas as well. Speaks better english than most college kids in korea.
He knows the city and many of the ex-pat living there. He genuinely tries to answer any and all questions. He'll even go out and have a coffee if you're in town.
It was my first time going to vietnam alone, I am glad this man helped me out. You will be too. |

You wouldn't happen to have any contact info. for that agency handy, would you?
I'm also planning on going to Vietnam but will be going overland so have to sort out this visa crap before hand and won't have time to get it in Thailand or Cambodia. |

He was a friend of a friend. Just send him an email and you can see how he is for yourself. |

I got a visa in July. I just went to the Embassy, you go just inside the gate and there are some rooms on the left(really small not what you would expect a visa processing office to look like). Grab a ticket and get in line. Fill in the form I think I needed a photo, my ticket schedule and 70 000w (ish)..It's on the website or ring up and ask. Then go back in 4 days to pick it up.
I got a one month tourist visa, it was supossed to be 2 months but the guy read the dates wrong. He told me to just get an extension in Vietnam coz it is cheaper (which I did). |
