I have just been given a Samsung J700 cellphone.
I got it in Malaysia, but it's tri-band,so will it work in korea if i get a korean sim card?

has anyone tried using a tri band samsung phone in korea
(that was purchased outside of korea.)

From my experience my foreign phone works fine here with a foreign SIM card, but I can't use a Korean SIM card in it so it gets quite expensive to use it. I'm not sure if my foreign phone only work with 3G or if it can run on the regular net as well.

I'm no expert in this so you better get another's opinion.

Hey, I don't know if this is true or not, but I'm pretty sure foreign phones give you swine flu.

short answer is no. long answer if you jump through enough hoops and you have contacts, still probably no but there is a very slim chance

Short answer is NO.

You can use it as a globally roaming phone (from where ever it was from or where ever you have a sim for it) but you CANNOT get a Korean number for it.

The system here is CLOSED. You can't even change networks without changing your phone here.
