I want to make a weekend trip from Seoul to Mt.Songnisan/Beopjusa Temple. I'm travelling from Seoul, preferbally late Friday night.

So basically I just need some transportation help. How to get there, where to stay, how to get from hotel to national park and how to get back to Seoul on Sunday.

Any help is gladly appreciated!

Bus from dong-seoul terminal...takes a few hours from memory. Regular service. Beopjusa is within walking distance of the township. Plenty of motels. There is an interesting guesthouse actually within the national park as well...I'll post details later.

Not sure about buses because I drove there every time I've been. Going from Dong-seoul terminal sounds about right, but I've a feeling you might be able to go from Nambu terminal too. Last time I went to Songnisan I parked near the bus station there and I'm sure I saw something about Nambu terminal as I walked through the bus station. Might be wrong there though.

Anyway, if you haven't found the Korea National Park website for Songnisan it's quite useful.

I got the train from Seoul Station last May to Cheongju (fairly big town, lots of motels & restaurants), then a bus to Boeun the next day (fairly small, but had a motel), & on to Songnisan. Be careful if you go the Cheongju route, as the name sounds very similar to 2 or 3 other towns in Korea. Double check your train ticket.

There are several motels at Songnisan which would be my pick of an overnight stay if I ever went back. Only 2km to walk to the temple. The intercity bus terminal is right in the main street.
