Has anyone found sleeping pills you can get OTC at a pharmacy that actually work well? I've been using 아론 (Aron) but it's pretty weak. I want to avoid getting a prescription for something but I may just have to.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Sort out the problem rather than taking the pills. Sleeping pills are a very bad habit to get into.

I agree with D.D.

You can get several different kinds of OTC sleeping pills. Sleepell is diphenhydramine HCL. It's pretty good, but can leave you a bit groggy in the morning.

Doctors here readily give out stillnox, aka zolpidem aka ambien. You have to be very careful with this drug though. You can get into a nasty habit with them, and if you take more than the recommended dose, you will likely black out and do really weird things, such as taking more pills, calling your friends and saying stupid things, sending weird emails, etc.

Just be careful. Sleep meds aren't anything to play around with.

Yeah, seconded on that diphenhydramine HCL. I had an allergy cocktail with that in some Sudafed that I took last night. Woke up sleepy as hell, and that's after a good 10 hours of sleep. Almost fell asleep sitting on the toilet while the shower water was heating up. Also had to double up my usual dosage of coffee in the morning, but by the middle of the third period, I was starting to get my caffeine buzz.

I'll have to try stillnox. Sounds like it might be good for an eye-opener on the weekends.

OP, you probably aren't looking for health advice, so I'll keep this short. I was taking sleeping pills earlier this year because I couldn't fall asleep and I'd wake up really early. I made three important changes.

1) Lots of exercise. I made sure my body was exhausted and my mind followed suit.
2) A completely dark room. I have a big window in my room that I've blocked out with a heavy blanket. I don't wake up before my alarm anymore.
3) A better diet. Less refined sugars, breads, ect.

These have made a huge difference for me.

If you are looking for pills though, they are easy to get at any pharmacy.

I just got into a habit of the 'sleepell' pills. I slept 18 ***** hours on sunday. I still felt tired. Since then I had been taking them daily (for around 5 days?). I can't seem to sleep without them now (or at least not easily).

Tonight will be my first night to kick the habit... I will probably pull an all nighter and not be able to sleep, but hopefully tomorrow I can correct myself.

Any tips?

If you are sleeping and are still tired its a sign that you are running on adrenaline and not getting a deep rest. You need to take up meditation or exercise to try and break the adrenaline habit. People who have minds that think too much and cant switch off have sleeping problems.

Remember your mind is supposed to be a tool that you use. Your mind is not meant to convince you that you are your mind hence it must run 24/7. If you take up meditation after a few years your mind will calm down and you will see that the reason you are tired and cant sleep is your mind is running 24/7.

Medication helps you sleep but also adds fuel to your mind causing you to have firther problems. You need to break the cycle through exercise or meditation.

Coffee is a big no-no for people with sleeping problems. Quit being so busy and take time to know yourself, face your problems and calm your mind.
