Do you automatically get renewed if you choose to or is it more of a negotiation between you and the school?

Theres nothing automatic about it.

Speaking from epik experience (& I imagine smoe is similar) foreign teacher rehire is subject to school evaluation.

You'd have to screw up pretty bad to be rejected though.

You don't get automatically renewed. You are reviewed by your peers in your school, most likely do an open class for the district, have your file reviewed, etc....

After all of which, if you are a questionable rehire, you might have to interview again.
