Just checked out a few sites and it seems the hit movie "District 9" will open in Korea after all.

I've seen the ads on buses saying it'll open next month.

It's worth seeing.

Better check to make sure there are English subtitles. You may understand Afrikaans, but I doubt you understand Prawn.

i haven't seen this movie.

for those that have; when the aliens communicate, i'm assuming there is a need for subtitles, which would be in Korean. Is the communication between them to the extent where it would ruin the movie without being able to read it, or do they not talk enough so that it's still cohesive?

Yeah, there's significant dialogue between the main prawn and the main dude. However the prawn are actually really expressive in a reactive way that might allow you to pull what they're saying in context.

I don't think it would ruin the movie, but to get the full experience you should probably watch it with the English subs.

BTW, VERY good quality torrents are available for DL online.

You definitely need to know what the aliens are saying to understand the plot.

Don't watch the movie unless it has English subtitles. Without knowing what the aliens are saying, it's pointless. That and this movie is probably one of the best I've seen this year, it'd be worth to get the full experience.

Exactly! My thing is that these movies are being released to DVD wayyyyy before they even hit the theaters in Korea. Why should I pay the 16,000WON if I can just watch it for free? Shoot, the Koreans know this too!

Man, these theaters need to get on it.

Yeah, I'm not endorsing pirating the movie in any way, but there are several torrent sites that one could theoretically attain a copy of the movie from, such as torrentz or the pirate bay

It came out today, Sept. 17, in Bangkok, but of course, the rest of Thailand has to wait for a couple of weeks.
