Now that it is getting cooler, my neighbors are running the heat a lot. The vents for the heaters are under my window. Apparently they do not require the use of chimneys to vent exhaust gases from heaters in Korea. I don't see any chimneys on the traditional-style houses, nor any lightning rods, either; the vents are under and near windows on some of those houses, too. My apartment is constantly filling up with kerosene fumes and carbon monoxide. It is making me sick and very tired. Sometimes I can't even see straight. I wake up with a headache every morning.

I'm beginning to fear that I might not wake up one morning in the winter when the neighbors are running the floor heating full blast all night. If I could at least find a carbon monoxide detector with a nice loud alarm, it might save my life. I was going to buy one when I was home, but it only worked on 120 volts. I have never seen a carbon monoxide detector here. Heck, I can't even recall seeing a smoke detector for sale, no less in an apartment. And there are not even any fire extinguishers anywhere. And there's rigid bars over my only window. But that's another matter.

There's no vents over my two-burner gas stove, either, so when I cook all the carbon monoxide fills the apartment. The heaters outside are going now, and I can smell the heating oil fumes filling the apartment.

Anyone see a carbon monoxide detector for sale online?

Thanks.

Thank you.

I don't want to appear ungrateful, but

132,090 won for a carbon monoxide detector?

I have seen some irresponsibly inflated prices on things in Korea, but this is sick. It doesn't even have a digital readout of levels.

Target has carbon monoxide alarms starting at $20 (I see it has a battery). The digital readout model is $46.

Amazon has one for $22:

Given that everybody, it seems, cooks with gas, including these portable gas jobs, and many places use portable kerosene heaters inside, wouldn't it make more sense for Korea to require every home, apartment, business, etc., to have a carbon monoxide detector, instead of issuing government warnings about the dangers of asphyxiation from fans and ari conditioners while sleeping?

I entered "carbon monoxide" in gmarket, and this was the only item that came up. One carbon monoxide detector?

I tried looking in the Maternity & Baby Care section/safety products for more carbon monoxide detectors, but it looks like it is mainly baby stuff.

I hope this isn't the only carbon monoxide detector for sale in Korea.

I shoulda brought one with me.

Ok so you are being poisoned, and you want to spend money to determine how much you are being poisoned.
Try this alternative. MOVE!
