A BIG HOLA to all those working in Pusan. My name is Tony and I am in need of your taste buds for a few seconds!~
I have decided to open up a new restaurant in the university area near Kyung Sung University, I will be the main owner, and I need to know what you want. Here are some ideas I have:
1. Mexican food (both Tex Mex and the real stuff)
2. Perhaps all day breakfast
3. Real Tacos (hopefully we can make a taco stand in one of the walls)
4. Corona, hopefully other Mexican beers
WHAT ELSE?????????
I need to know your input, the sky is the limit. The place is not so big, but it will have your own music available, dance floor????I want this place to be your casa, a place where you can relax, get away. Now I want this to mostly serve you folks, My wife (we are both from Texas) is packing and we are getting ready to start a new life in a city that seems full of great things! Please let me know any ideas, and I will sincerely look into it~
Mi case es su Casa~
Thanks and bless you, Tony |

Excellent idea! I have made Aljotta before, thanks for the feed back!
By the way, I am going to actually have a big PRE opening party next week, I will stock the place with Corona (just got the license) and have a BIG vat of my famous chile, put on some tunes, and let you folks relax and have a good time~
I decided to have some specials going on during the Korean Chusok Holiday as well.
thanks again~ |

Breakfast is a good idea. It's a little rough acquiring a western style breakfast in the Hermit Kingdom. A dance floor sounds good in theory, but if you have limited space (stock scenario for said Kingdom) then you might do better to utilize that space for customers (tables and chairs). if this idea takes off, you may find a boat load of westerners (and Koreans) visiting your establishment!!
The menu is your creation. I am guessing you are of Mexican descent. Again, if space is a concern, try to make your dish choices fairly easy to make and take up less space as raw materials. Also, change the menu up on a regular basis (change in the Hermit Kingdom? Nooooooooo).
The Mexican based food idea is good!! You might do better to have an all around mixed menu from many aspects of the American diet. I believe the more unknown the dish, the better the chances of Koreans visiting your establishment. This is what you really should shoot for. You want the word out on the street that your menu is good and has a variety of unknown dishes that Koreans just don't know about (this sholudn't be too difficult).
Whatever happens, let us know when it takes off. I will be there! |

Horchata please. I would definitely buy that.
Real tacos are a good idea. Basically, if you have good mexican food people will buy it because it's so scarce. Umm...maybe Sol beer. Do you know this beer? |

Negra modelo!
Also, chips and salsa, even if it's Pace. One of the best things about Mexican restaurants in the US are the chips.
Good luck with the business! |

Have some menu items suitable for vegetarians and vegans (or at least vegetarians - real cheese is OK) and use good vegetable oil instead of lard.
Guacamole would be very nice! |

Mucho gusto Tony.
-Ingredients here can be difficult to get. Whatever you decide to do, do it well.
-You don't have to drop a Texas size portion on people. If it's good, trust me, we'll order more.
-Please do make a kickass salsa.
I would also suggest that less is more. Do a few things really well, rather than a bunch of things just ok. This will also do wonders for your food costs. |

YAAAY! I'm hoping to get a job in Busan for spring semester...I didn't know how I would live without my Tex-Mex!
My biggest requests would be quesadillas and fajitas. Chips & salsa, as well as chips & cheese dip.
That's all I require for a happy Mexican meal.
I will definitely drop in and see you if/when I move there! Be sure to keep us updated on how the restaurant is going. |

Hey Tony, can you post directions from the nearest subway stop?
Maybe you could serve small side dishes of chips and dips--salsa, bean & cheese, guac--Korean-style, surrounding the main entre? We had a restaurant around here once called "Burritos As Big As Your Head". |
