Does anyone by chance know of a good goshiwon near Nowon?

Cheers.

Not specifically, but Nowon is a big area and I'd say there's got to be at least one there.

By the way, do you mean Nowon-gu, the district, or near Nowon subway station?

Take a walk around there and check it out. If you can read Korean, just look for the goshiwon sign.

Cheers.

Will do, just wondering on the off chance someone had stayed at a good one recently.

Damn... having lived in goshiwons for a year and a half, I feel for ya.
Hope things work out.

Try the ones at goshi1.net, also try searching in naver for 노원역 고시원 (the map thingie is really helpful), and call like every possible one. Every goshiwon has its own little pricing standard, so the same $350/mo could net you a crappy no-window room, a decent windowed room, or a nice windowed room w/ bath+shower.

Although, having been through that stuff, I'd just find a 2-bedroom with a housemate for the same amount of money. At least I don't have to pay hundreds of $$/mo just to live in a room the size of a queen-sized bed.
