|
|
Note: I tried the search function but all the results were worthless. Please don't flame me.
My girlfriend and I are moving back to the USA next month, but first we are taking a long trip to Europe. Because of this, we do not want to take our massive suitcases, with a year's worth of life in them, with us.
So, how can we get our suitcases from Korea to the USA without us?
Before anyone suggests it, I would rather not spend ~$500 per suitcase to send them via DHL or a similar carrier.
I also know that you can go to the post office and have them ship boxes via surface, but does anyone know if the post office will ship suitcases?
If I can't take them to the post office, where do I need to go?
We have 3 large suitcases that need to get from Suwon, Korea to Chicago, USA. We don't have remotely the amount to fill a container. Surface shipping is going to be the cheapest, but I also realize that it will take several months to arrive. We are going to SE Asia towards the end of December, and we will need some of the stuff we want to ship.
Any advice/experience is appreciated in advance, but please keep it on topic.
Thanks. |

You do not have to fill an entire container. When I moved with my wife to the US a few years ago, and when we returned, we went with a shipping company. I do not remember a minimum. Shipping companies can be a nice option as they usually charge by space and not weight. Las Vegas to Incheon is about 40-45 days.
Another option is to box the suitcases, and mail them that way.

Moldy Rutabaga, do you remember what company you used and how much it cost? |
