Anyone done this with their ISP?
http://broadband.mpi-sws.org/transparency/bttest-mlab.php

I just did it, I'm on SK and apparently SK rate limits bittorrent uploads.

my TCP uploads are 10x my bittorrent uploads.

with bittorrent not being as popular in Korea I wonder why they do that.

I forget who I'm with but I was nabbing some sweet, sweet torrent action around 1.5mb last night. Upload was around 125k/s.

Was this on a private tracker?

I've been getting a steady 8-9mb down off sites like what.cd and tvtorrents.

EDIT: also 8-9 down on Megaupload via IDM.

I just moved house and got KT internet installed.

Is BitTorrent traffic on a well-known BitTorrent port (6881) throttled?

* Completed BitTorrent and TCP transfers using the BitTorrent port 6881:

Transfer Speed TCP Speed BitTorrent Conclusion
Download #0 2016 Kbps 2000 Kbps No rate limiting
Download #1 2009 Kbps 2010 Kbps No rate limiting
Download #2 2018 Kbps 2009 Kbps No rate limiting
Download #3 2000 Kbps 2000 Kbps No rate limiting
Download #4 2018 Kbps 2026 Kbps No rate limiting

Is BitTorrent traffic on a non-standard BitTorrent port (10009) throttled?

* Completed BitTorrent and TCP transfers using the non-BitTorrent port 10009:

Transfer Speed TCP Speed BitTorrent Conclusion
Download #0 2018 Kbps 2000 Kbps No rate limiting
Download #1 2026 Kbps 2027 Kbps No rate limiting
Download #2 2017 Kbps 2035 Kbps No rate limiting
Download #3 2018 Kbps 2027 Kbps No rate limiting
Download #4 1992 Kbps 1843 Kbps No rate limiting

Is TCP traffic on a well-known BitTorrent port (6881) throttled?

* Comparing TCP transfers using the well-know BitTorrent port 6881 and the non-BitTorrent port 10009:

TCP Transfer BitTorrent port Non-BitTorrent port Conclusion
Download #0 2016 Kbps 2018 Kbps No rate limiting

Not hard to determine that when I was uploading 3-4 times faster than I was downloading the other night! DL was around 3-400 upload was 1.1-1.3MB/s

edit: In my rush to post I seem to have left out upload stats will redo and re-post later.

INTERESTING because I just started up my torrent app and on the one working torrent I'm seeding first with one peer and two peers just now, neither get above 52 each, they jump up and down around the number. Could be coincidence of course.

So 2 of 3 KT users being rate limited. For a country that isn't big on torrents its strange that the ISPs are going to that trouble.

Maybe but they don't interfere with download and don't interfere with edonkey or the other file sharing sites
