The Wire without a doubt. BSG would have gotten a nod if only the last five or so epsiodes didn't suck so hard. Firefly could have been awesome if Fox didn't give it the axe prematurely. I hear good things about Deadwood too.

Movies are tough to pick. No Country for Old Men, yes. Mystic River yes. City of God, yes. I think one that didn't get enough praise was There Will Be Blood. That movie really went against the grain and it worked very well.

Best performance by an actor would be Casey Affleck in The Assasination Jesse James. I could never really work out why I liked that movie so much, considering how boring it is. On reflection (re-watching) , I realized it was his performance.

Movie - This is a toughy,... I think the movie I've liked the best recently (which is what I can think of) is Taken with Liam Neesen.
Album - Any of Volbeat's albums
TV - Lost
Book - The books I've liked the most were the Twilight series. I know, juvinile at best but, they were very entertaining.

TV: BSG, despite its low points, by far and away this was my favourite TV show of the decade!
Movie: V For Vendetta
Album: Picaresque by The Decemberists

The Wire also gets my vote for the best television series of the past decade, or any decade for that matter.

This is pretty much the only show that causes me to be a Boxset Bully.

Movie: Dark Knight, Anchorman, and seeing as I'm in Korea.....Oldboy

TV: 24, Lost, Peep Show, The Office (UK), Deadliest Catch, and I really wanted to put in Family Guy but it started in 1999 Sad

Books: I don't read books, so can't comment on this one. Lonely Planet Korea 7th Edition?!

For book: China Mieville's "Perdido Street Station" if you're into weird scifi/fantasy trappings.

I don't know about best, but probably the album I've spent the most time listening to in the 00s is the Delgados "The Great Eastern", or maybe The Knife's "Silent Shout".

TV, no clue. Lost and BSG started out strong, but got boring pretty fast. If it's making money, drag it out all you can.

Movies: Memento, Dancer in the Dark, Children of Men, Pan's Labyrinth, No Country, Mystic River, Crouching Tiger even the first Shrek: there's probably more I've forgotten.

ooo Deadliest Catch- there's a good one. I had buddies who had been in combat calling those guys insane.

Good ole MSNBC's Lockdown! and TrueTVs World's Craziest Police Chases were always good filler.
