Get a bag drink. There's an area where a lot of Westerners hang out and you can get drinks in bags for about 5,000. They are really strong so it's a good value! There are 4 places, but the general concensus is that the one next to the Holy Grill is the best.

The easiest is probably Daegu Station. There are a lot of shops and restaurants in that area, and the bar area is nearby. I don't live near downtown so I can't tell you specifics, but just follow the foreigners Very Happy A lot of Koreans will know where you should go if you say 'Club That', Frog, Monkeys, G2 etc.

Galbijim is a particularly good resource for Daegu.

http://wiki.galbijim.com/Samdeok_Fire_Station_and_Rodeo_Street_district

Most of the popular clubs are near Samdeok Fire Station/ Rodeo Street.

Tell the cab drive "Sam deok Seo bong so"

Check the column on the right for bars and clubs.

If I hear of anything going down I'll post about it.

Cheers.

Are you playing in some kind of group (like a facebook group) or some other kind of league? I would be very interested in participating in some American football pickup games if there were enough people around in the city who were interested.

Aside from that...I would recommend a stop over at Ariana Brau before you head downtown for whatever other adventures you might want to get into. Great beer, decent patronage, and though I hear the band has changed not long ago, they have always kept decent bands in there during the 5 years I have been in Daegu.

Don't ask for "Sam Deok Seo Bong So", because it's Sam Deok Firestation, which is Sam Deok So Bang Seo (삼덕소방서).

But yeah, those are the places to go. Rodeo street is lively on a Saturday night. There's also Communes, Ping, Old Skool all in the same area. They're bars and they're pretty busy at the weekend.

No.

Daegu Station at night is nothing but old adjuma Mamasans luring you to prossies, or happy ending massages.
There are absolutely no bars around there at all so I don't know what pharmaceuticals this cowgirl has ingested.

Tell the taxi driver to take you to SAM DUK SO BANG SUH
When you get there, youlll see a "Buy the Way" convenience store. head down the street that runs down the right side of it.
A place called Communes will be a few doors down on the right.

The cross street just past that has lots of clubs down to the left.

Avoid Holy Grill unless you'r hungry for overpriced food that is basically piles of sauce. 10,000won for fries and fake gravy.

Ariana has been closed for a month or two...going to reopen as a nightclub I think...

I guess it depends on what you consider close. It's just a few blocks to the bar area, although taking the bus to the stop by Outback Steakhouse is the easiest way to get close to them.

I truly hope that is not true. They have gone through renovations several times since I have been Daegu, and I hope the closure is due to yet another renovation project of the restaurant and not becoming a nightclub. That would be a sad sad loss of what I consider the brightest gem in Daegu.

It is by no means a few blocks. It's a 20 minute walk, and for someone new to the city will be like landing in Detroit.

Unfortunately I think it's true -- though don't quote me on it.

I also hope not though...I rather enjoyed their all you can drink beer for 16,000 or whatever it was.
