So my friend and I are planning a trip to Jeju. I want to find a hotel that is water front...I have found White Beach Hotel, Jeju Palace Hotel, and Oriental Hotel so far. For those of you who have been there before... what other water front hotels do you guys recommend?
Also, what are some fun, exciting activities we can do there? I know there activities available such as ATV, scootering, scuba diving... what else??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hmmmm....to be honest Jeju isn't as great of a getaway as you might imagine. There are nice beaches, and there are nice hotels, but from what I've seen (in the two trips I've made there, all the way around the island) the best hotels are kind of resorts set off the main beaches.

The Lotte Hotel and the Westin are really, really nice down in Joongmoon, but from what I saw you still have to walk a good 10-15 minutes to get down to the beach.

My favorite spot was a small min-bak on a beach called Gimnyeong, about 20 minutes East of Jeju city. It's small, sleepy, romantic, and the water is gorgeous. Between the Jeju city and there is Hamduk, the busiest and most happening beach on the island.

Hope this helps...I guess my best advice is to not have your hopes up too much. It is a beautiful place, but it's not developed like a Western tourist destination is. They have not capitalized on their assets whatsoever, but it's still one of the top destinations in Korea.

Oh, and I hope you like pork and raw fish. Seriously.

The Hyatt is right on the beach and the rooms are gorgeous. It's expensive, but you can usually find discounted rates on travel websites.

There's seafood as well. Abalone, clams, jook porridge and pheasant.
