|

Hey, quick question. I've got a few different recruiters working for me. I am cautious about whether or not I should apply to the same programs with different recruiters (i.e. SMOE, GEPIK). Will this help or hurt my chances. I want as many people working for me as possible, but I don't want anyone getting irritated with me. Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you.
Also, this has been asked before. I've read about it, but I forgot what I read. The search feature on this forum isn't great. So if I get one response to this question it will be: use the search. To this I respond: yeah yeah yeah. |

I would avoid recruiters altogether and apply directly to the website. This will be possible for EPIK www.epik.go.kr from October 1st. I am not sure about GEPIK or SMOE (if you would trust them after recent events). Try google.
I am bitter and twisted on the whole recruiter experience but find that if your employable you will get a job whether you use them or not. If your not employable, then you won't get a job anyway.
Recruiters are paid for delivering warm bodies, hence they will tell the schools that they are employing hardworking dedicated teachers and the teacher that they are about to get an easy 12 month sponsored drinking session. They cause more problems than they solve and they charge w1,000,000 for the 'service'. |

I appreciate the tip, and I see your point. What I am trying to find out is:
-If two different recruiters submit an application to the same program do they find out about the other recruiter and get pissed?
-Does the epik/gepik/smoe program see multiple apps for the same person and get pissed?
-When I say pissed, do Brits assume I mean drunk?
Thanks |

I have that same question. I am currently working with one recruiter (I want GEPIK or SMOE) but am debating sending my resume to other recruiters as well. Is that not looked well upon?
Do the recruiters have access to all the same information, or do schools choose who they work with? |

If you are going down the public school route ,only apply with ONE recruiter. (I recommend Korvia)
GEPIK and SMOE reject multiple applications and you will be turned down all together.
EPIK I believe is a little different.....1st application in.
For hagwons.....as many recruiters as you want. |

Agree!!! With public schools stick with one recruiter. But if you are looking for a Hagwon job play as many as possible as they will give you different salaries for the same job. If they can find some one to take the the 2.3million job for 2.2 then the get an agreement with the school to get a 600k kickback half of the yearly savings. I see this all the time, should be illegal but it is a gray area or at the very least deep under the table. |
