|
|
I just graduated in June so I don't have my diploma yet. I had my school send me a verification of degree, but the notary public won't notarize it (which i understand why now) but i don't know how to get it notarized so i can get it apostilled. unless i don't need it notarized? it does have the University of California seal stamped onto it. but I really don't know.
i'm confused. I don't know what my next step should be. I tried reading other threads on this but I couldn't find anything that related specifically to my problem. |

Go to an attorney office or to the court house either can get it confirmed for you! Don't forget or CBC. |

I took my verification of degree notice into the Secretary of State's office and they were able to notarize and apostille it at the same time. The person who does the apostille is a notary, so that shouldn't be a problem.
That being said, when I actually sent in the apostilled document to Korea, Korean immigration came back and requested I send in my actual degrees. I refuse to ship my diplomas after hearing stories of documents being lost or misplaced, so I took my degrees and got them copied, notarized, and apostilled.
They had claimed my verification of degree letter did not look "official" enough, but of course since they wanted it apostilled, it was not the original embossed document. I was lucky enough to receive my degrees in the week it took them to make that request, but maybe you will get lucky and will have yours accepted. My advice, send in an apostilled copy AND the original embossed letter.
Hope this helps! |

i was in the exact position as you in march. in a uc school too
i tried bringing my signed letter to a notary and they said they wouldnt notarize it because they have to SEE the person sign it....so what i did was called up a mobile notary and brought them over to my school and he was able to watch, a random secretary at my school sign my letter of completion, and then he notarized it. its funny how ginger tosser ur letter was denied. i guess i got lucky. my letter of rec was something i could have printed and done myself lol. the only thing they had that i didnt have was the official uc stamp |
