Does anyone know where you can study Korean in Chungcheongbuk-do? (Ideally Cheongju but considering the whole province is okay)
There are courses at Chungbuk University and Cheongju University but they are during the day time, which is not very convenient for teachers. I'm pretty sure that the Chungbuk University course is dominated by full-time Chinese students.
There is also the YMCA but, unless it has changed since I briefly went there many years ago, does very little for improving Korean ability (Not bad for meeting other foreigners though).
So what are the options then? Does anyone have any recent knowledge or relevant experiences? I would be interested to hear any information, including about those courses above that run in the day time...
However, I would be much more interested to know about any courses running at night or at weekends, ideally for advanced learners or upper-intermediate at the very least. |

Chungbuk university runs an evening class. Last time the class was from 6.30-8, 3 nights a week. They use the seoul national university book, and last time had 3 classes (book 1, 2, 3).
I've been checking the website but they haven't put up any information about next semester..it should start in october. I've asked my boyfriend to call the uni and ask about it so i'll let u know what he finds out. |

I also dearly wish for some classes in the area, though intermediate at best.
I'll post if I learn anything in the coming days. |

My boyfriend phoned the uni for me yesterday, but the aren't running the evening course this term. Not sure why...they said lack of interest, but they haven't even put up the form for applying, so how can they know who's interesterd?
I guess as it's a free course maybe they just decided not to run it this time. Usually about half the students drop out before it ends.
So know it seems there are no evening classes around here, only morning/afternoons, which is no good for me |

Thanks for investigating. Shame nothing is happening. As you say, how do they know there is no interest if they don't even advertize? I looked at the website so I'm sure others must have done too.
You said it is usually free. I was expecting to have to pay at least 200,000 won. If people pay money to study they are less likely to drop out at a guess. |
