I teach in 3 public schools and I don't mind having some classes cancelled but lately it has been a joke. I taught 9 classes this week out of 22. Next week I teach 4 classes of the 22 I was scheduled for. Not sure of my schedule for the week after that but I know I have the Monday off so at least 4 classes are already cancelled.

I actually go to work and just watch ice hockey most days.

Why are they cancelling so many classes? Anything to do with swine flu?

Enjoy your easy paychecks while they last, and start saving up just in case your current hagwon goes under.

Tests next week. They have to concentrate on the material that matters.

Is it as chock full of useful information and equally as gripping as this blog entry?

Schools are prepping the students for mid-terms. Since nothing taught by the NET's is on the exams the NET's get to desk-warm while the "real" material is reviewed.

That our English classes are once a week with 30+ students shows how seriously Koreans take our speaking classes.

Lol you're complaining?

Soak it up whilst it lasts...

If you're sick of ice hockey - read that novel that you've never got round to; learn a language (it's actually fun once you get going) learn kung fu from the internet.... develop some cool new ideas for teaching your students... take an online course... Teach yourself Quantum Dynamics... sleep....

Man, you don't know what you got 'till it's gone...
