It's time to buy some new AA Nimh batteries. I want to get a new battery charger online. I want a smart charger that won't overheat or overcharge the batteries.

A lot of chargers are rapid chargers that heat up the batteries a lot. I've read that slower charging gives longer life. Some chargers charge two batteries as a set. Others charge for a set period of time. Either way, you can overcharge, and damage the batteries.

I would love to find a top-notch charger, like the La Crosse BC-9009:
http://www.amazon.com/Crosse-Technology-BC-9009-AlphaPower-Battery/dp/B00077AA5Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1254029295&sr=8-1-catcorr

Or the Maha Powerex MH-C9000:

But I haven't found them in Korea online. The two chargers I did order here were defective.

What's your experience with the chargers here? Any advice?

BTW, I'm switching over to hybrid Nimh batteries. I got a set of Sanyo Eneloops and they are working far better than anything else I have, even the 2,700 mah Sanyos. I see there are other brands of hybrid batteries here, including Panasonic Infinium. Haven't decided which to try next.

Ever trying out like emart, technomart, or other electronic outlets? I've seen them everwhere but not sure about the technical stuff like slow charging and stuff

I don't know much about hybrid Nimh batteries, but I've used Rayovac's 15 minute charging system (i-c3) for the past 5 years and it's by far the best charger I've ever used, as well as the batteries.

I think it's super effective but have been hard to find over the years. Can charge AA's and AAA's. Here's a link to the 2-battery charger, and there's also a 4-battery charger out there.

Charger

Batteries

Don't know if they're sold in Korea, but they can also be found on eBay.

I have this old one that has been great

Wife got it on auction or gmarket a few years ago.

Looking on Gmarket, it looks like you can buy the Sanyo Eneloop charger with the batteries. I use the Eneloop charger and it works fine.
