1) Boshintang jokes are bromidic and stale.
2) You're going to have to go with Option B or some other option the others have suggested that isn't Option A. Doing otherwise would show that your lifetime commitment to a pet is just talk. |

Says you. Dog eating jokes just get funnier and funnier. Because they are true. |

yea get rid of the dog. your in-law is doing you a huge favor and you're literally just shitting on his property based on a faulty principle. |

Talked it over with the FIL. It's been fixed. Dog is still with us, we'd never get rid of him. Oh, and the comment about "sh*tting" all over his apartment... Just because you're not house broken doesn't mean my dog isn't. I would never let a 50lb dog sh*t and piss in my house. |

Basically told him our commitment to eachother and our dog. He wants his daughter to be happy, and knew that this was the only thing that was going to make her happy. That and he realized that if we moved out, he'd have nobody paying him rent... |

Good news OP.
So much for the suggestions that no Korean father in law could understand and compromise...or the even better suggestion that the OP should trash the place... |

No one said anything like that, though. |

I would have nothing to do with the GF's dad ever again...he backed out on his word allowing the dog. Screw me once, shame on you....screw me twice, shame on me. The GF's dad will be giving you more problems that obviously you DO NOT see coming. |

Personal advice: never rent a place to live from your father in law, especially if he's Korean. |
But you are right Bramble, no one advised trashing the place. My slight exageration.
In the end, good thing it all worked out for the OP through reasonable discussions with his FIL. |
