Well for starters I've never been to Pusan, so pretty much any information will be helpful.
In general are the different areas for the screenings located in close proximity or am I going to be traveling around the whole city? How is the Pusan subway system for getting around for a firs timer? |

I go most years.
Some decent films and a good cheerful atmosphhere to be had. And it;s always nice to see the sea.
Stay in a cheap motel in China town for some colour and good food and use the train and subway to get around.
too much hassle booking online. I just turn up and get whatever tkts I can. I don't always get my prime choice of films I want to see, but it's just less headache (i'm lazy.) |

Isn't Chinatown Texas street? Not a nice place to stay. Many cheap love hotels near the beach for 40-50000 a night. |

I like it. It's colourful, not bland like the average Korean area.
Strokes for folks.
I just like being amidst the grit and the colours, always have. Also decent (non Korean style) Chinese food in some restaurants and also Uzbeki and Russian food etc... Right accross from the train station.... Right now hardly beach weather is it.... |

Just an FYI. a subway ride from China Town to Haeundae is upwards of 45 minutes. Not sure if one short street full of Russian mobsters and sex slave prostitutes is worth the hassle.
i know that 4 of 6 of the theaters are in the Haeundae area. I don't know where the other two are. And they are building some stage thing on the beach... don't know what for exactly but it'll probably be some sort of free evening entertainment.
My advice is to stay in Haeundae. The beach is beautiful and if you decide you must have some Russian food (or other sordid "colour") take a ride out to China town for an afternoon.
But to each his own. |
