| Are there any trackers with DTS. wav/ DVD-audio files? I have a few from demonoid, but was wondering about others. |

From what I've seen, in the past year to year and a half, more and more people are getting seedboxes and it is almost impossible to compete with that from Korea. The day OVH starts busting all the seedbox servers is the day your speeds will rise again.

Actually, I noticed earlier that you said you have a seedbox. I've been looking into these but am still a bit unsure of where to start.
My understanding so far: you download files to the seedbox and then download them from the server to your home pc/laptop. But I guess since I'm running a 100mbit connection, I could just download things directly from peers to my computer.
I'm more concerned about uploading--so would I upload files to my seedbox, where it would then upload to peers? Why does it upload so much faster?
Hopefully my questions make some kind of sense.
Also, do you have any recommendations for seedboxes? And do you think they are worth the extra $30-50 a month versus just buying DVDs/movies (each month: internet + seedbox = ~ $100, then you have to add hard drive/DVD media costs for backing up your downloads). |
Back when I was first doing torrents in Korea, the whole seedbox thing had not caught on with a lot of people. The reason is cost. Most were like $100 a month, or the lucky in France and the UK could buy OVH. Since there weren't a ton of them, I was able to upload quite a lot. I had a pretty good stream going most of the time of 1-3MB/s up. I was uploading a lot of Korean dvds so I was the initial seeder for a lot of stuff.
Then I went back to Canada and I absolutely needed a seedbox. I got used to downloading what I want, when I want. I have tried 4 different companies and I have played with both windows boxes and linux boxes.
Currently I use an OVH reseller. The server is in France and the bandwidth is top tier within Europe, but second tier connecting outside Europe. The difference with this is, I can do maybe 100-200KB/s to a single seed in NA/Asia but within Europe can do 10MB/s to a single seed if they can handle it. (Exception to this is a couple fiber ISPs in America and to top tier US lines like ppl who leech from work or university.)
I find 50%+ of the seeders are from Europe, so having a seedbox there is very convienent. When I was in Korea this summer I uploaded to my seedbox. You will be limited on your connection's speed, so just upload using 10 connections. I was getting 3-4MB/s up. When I downloaded, I always use a multiport downloader, so I was getting 5+MB/s down.
If you want a good ratio on some sites, I suggest go with one for a month (December is a great month to do it) and abuse the crap out of it. |

I am usually 20-60 ratio on each torrent I grab. Why? |
I'd tell you why, but it'd be a mod edit. You talk about the #1 guy abusing, anyone who goes significantly over 1.0, while helpful to some users is hurting other users. If you hit 60.0 on a torrent that is 60 other people that have to eat your ratio deficit. I'm sure he's hurting more people than you, but it doesn't really make yours any better.

LOL, I get ratio's over 100:1
I am insulating myself against future potential losses . |
