Anyone rememebr those school days... Bruised, cut hands.... broken and dirty shoelaces, conkers baked, soaked in vinegar.. I once had a 'hundredsy...' (a conker that has one 100 battles.)
We didn't have pokemon or electro tomadachi's and whatnots in my day!
I liked a bit of marbles too. |

Yep, conker wars where I grew up (Ontario).
On a related note, the edible chestnuts around here right now are awesome. Are they plentiful Korea-wide? |

No, a conker gets the number that it beats. So if a 20 beats a 5 it becomes a 25-er. Needless to say there were 10-thousanders in our playground... and if 'stampsies' is in play all hell broke lose when it came off the string. |

'Cagies' could get you in trouble too if the hitter was over eager... |

Actually I have been considering introducing the game to my Grade 3 students, although the adults appear a bit shocked that people in England play games with what they consider to be a delicacy. |

What they eat is a chestnut, not a conker.
Conkers are 'Hoarse Chestnuts' and are rounder and bigger.
Playing conkers with the type of chestnuts you eat would be absurd and I for one willl be writing a strongly worded letter to my MP if I ever hear of such an act occuring! |
