i have to stop reading the damn thing at work. i'm laughing at loud and the koreans are wondering what's up. this might get ugly if they check out my browser history.....

I can't imagine why one would get fired for laughing at a blog at work...unless they saw that you were laughing out loud at asmith's blog and concluded that you could not possibly hold a college degree.

That's actually funny. You know what's funnier? I bet you read it everyday.

Nope. Read three days worth when someone mentioned it another thread. That was plenty. An ongoing retelling of the mundane punctuated with soju references, f-bombs and the always hilarious practice of including Koreans' mispronunciations in their quotes, just didn't do it for me.

Don't feel bad though. I don't read any other blogs either.

You read it. I can always tell. You took the time to post here? You read it.

When people are desperate for attention, they talk non-stop. When they're really desperate, they imagine everyone is listening.

I'm not desperate. I'm a father with kids. Why do I need attention?

I just always recognize a fan.

I've read asmith's blog a few times. Repetitive & crude? Sure but it's also sometimes funny and anyone who's ever taught in Korea(regardless of whether or not they married a local)can relate to a fair bit of it.

To the snotnoses who put down asmith, take the hogwan kids' fingers out of your a****, shred your precious BAs from Scratchmeass U & read the "Different Snobs...." thread to recognize yourselves.

Yeah, would like some more thoughts on the snob thread, but, really, can there still be more we've not yet mentioned?

No doubt there are.

Also, for the few people who seem offended by asmith saying anti-Korean things because he mocks his wife or whatever, come on. The man has been married ten years and with two (mixed) kids, seems to enjoy himself as much as he can and says he's a lifer.

You really believe he is anti-Korea? Just mentioning frustrations anyone might experience, I'd say.

Yesterday, I was supposed to study. But I didn't. I got drunk instead. My wife is my part-time teacher. She didn't get home till 8 p.m. I was shitfaced when she arrived.

She cooked me sam-gyup-saal for dinner.

I said, "Where the hell were you? You were supposed to be home by 3 p.m. so that we could hit the books."

She said, "I took da boys to jew. They rike jew vely much. Dey pray with da animal. You not king. It Saturday. Boys should have da fun."

I've been reading his blog for several months. Don't really like the political or end of the world/econmy stuff. However everything else is f_ing golden. Much better than so many other "I live in korea" blogs that want to share their unique living abroad experince to the world.

asmith your blog is entertaing as heck and shit you got a thread on daves dedicated to it now____your certainly big time

Soju rulZ!!!

I think it references that fact that Koreans are descendants of the Mongolians.

"...I avoid Mongol bullshit at all costs. A white man can't win playing that game."

I just sprayed Coke all over my keyboard because of that line. That's funny shit. Good thing I took to reading the blog at night. If I read that tomorrow morning I'd be a waygook looking for work.

I dunno how funny that's supposed to be. i read one post and it seemed, hmmm not hateful exactly -- disrespectful, let's say, and wholly without insight. Those who can write should, but don't xpect me to read it unless it's good.

'nuff said for me on this topic.
