Dont compare a custody battle between parents with the Nork government using secret agents to abduct Japanese citizens from seaside towns. |

I fail to see how this has anything to do with north korean abducting people.
Why not just compare this to pedophiles abducting little kinds in thailand instead? |

Why isn't Japan kidnapping NK citizens? I mean really, tit for tat and all that. |

I think what he means to say is:
Japan makes a stink if their citizens are abducted by NK
but here is a case where one rotten woman abducts her kids away from her husband to Japan, and the father gets bubkis, officially. Am I right, Bass?
The same would/could happen here in Korea. Don't you agree? |

What I'm personally confused about....
If they didn't have their marriage annulled in Japan (which is apparently why the American custody decree doesn't hold up which gives him rights) then they are still technically married, and he has every right to the children as she does. Why can't he take the kids then?
If that could be explained to me, I might understand the logic. The guy is a Japanese citizen. They got married in Japan. Of course the woman was expecting to follow Japanese law in case of a divorce.
I mean, if an American man married an American woman in America, and then moved to Japan, and they got divorced, I'm sure the man would expect to follow American law for the children, not Japanese law.
Also, reading the other article, it seems like the husband found a legal way to abduct the children in the first place. She wanted a divorce in Japan. He said lets move to America and make it work. She gets to America, and he turns around and divorces her? It's not like the kids grew up in America.
And for the poster who asked, yes, Korea gives preference to the mother usually, even foreign mothers. Not sure about if it's always 100% custody though like Japan. |
