I totally forgot about my visa expiration and thought I had the whole 90 day C-4 but found out my visa was only 45 days but didn't know about that. |
Hmm, which is it? Did you really forget or did you not know?
If you didn't know, you would have a stronger case. If you did know or were informed of it, I would assume like with E-2 visa holders there would be something to indicate your visa period. Did you get an ARC card or is that not for C-4 visa holders? |

The story is simple... I completed an E-2, then signed for a C-4 for a summer gig but ended up staying in Korea twelve days after the c-$ expired, and when I left to fly out I was held in detention at the customs office in Incheon airport, then held again when I came back with a tourist visa. |
Which is more simple - the 'story' or yourself? |

Is the OP for real?
You've done 8 yrs. in Korea and (presumably) have a univ. education but weren't aware of/ignored your visa expiration date?
Sure, Koreans are f&%#$! up in so many ways but how can they be blamed for denying you a new visa?
Sympathy? Its in the dictionary between s*** & syphilis. |

Ok... perhaps we were overly 'harsh'.
OP,
Now that you're all 'grown up', you must understand it is not incumbent upon Immigration to "explain" anything to you. Rather, the onus is on you to inform yourself. |

OP,
Because you didn't read your VISA, most likely you've caused yourself a great deal of problems. This will probably mean you won't get renewed.
In that case, can I have your job?
I would like to have the BEST JOB IN KOREA.
By the way, would you care to inform us curious readers what this "Best Job in Korea" is.

NO ONE HAS ANSWERED IT...
The Korean Immigration Office rejected my visa -
Does or have anyone been throuh this before'? and what do I do, or what can I do? |
I can only give one advice.
Go to immigration, ask for explanation, ask for a way out of this.
On the boards you will find little sympathy for your mistakes. |

You can fly home to attend a two-minute interview at the Korean consulate. |

Don't give up your passport..... for 10 years...are you INSANE??? That's not even just about not working...that's about not leaving the USA for 10 years... how can you even think that? Man, calm down and think... it's not that bad.
This is a life-lesson and it could end up being interesting in the end. Pay the fine in Korea, or whatever is gonna happen to you. You don't have to come back....ever.
www.anesl.com
That is a HUGE website for work in China... you should be able to find work there quickly... If you don't like China, then look anywhere else...there's tons of jobs for you.
In the meantime, take the train down to Busan (or another port city) and then take the cheapest boat to whatever country you're legally allowed to enter without a special visa. In that country, find accommodations at the cheapest hostel available. The cost will be dirt cheap in some countries.
Every day, contact as many employers as possible and get your visa-work started for China, or wherever, immediately. If you don't want China, go to Vietnam, Japan, or some other asian country that you fancy. Go for one year and get this monkey off your back. I suggest one that's not expensive and you can pick up some housing for a month. If you're smart, you'll find a way to work while you're there in the meantime to make cash for food and entertainment. You might even be able to live for free for the month.
You're right... you have an MA in Tesol...you're very valuable.
You have SOOOO many options. You're free now. Seriously, look at this situation as a new start to something interesting in your life. Just don't mess it up. Get out of trouble here and move on.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
P.S. - Pack light, and make zillions of copies of all your documents so you can start sending them all over the place. haha |
