Hey guys I'm looking for a laptop that's easily portable for travel. I only need it for microsoft word and writing and maybe browseing online. Any recommendations?

I don't want something so pricey or with those ultra small screens. 13'would be ideal possibly 12.

Thanks for any insight!

Take a walk around the laptop section in any supermarket or Hi-mart, or go to Yongsan for probably the widest selection. Look and feel. See which ones you like.

For your needs, you don't need to spend much. A 13'' without any bells and whistles will do. You only need 2GB of RAM. You don't need one with a fancy built-in graphics card or a fast processor.

Maybe 600,000 - 800,000?

You're probably going to get a flurry of netbook devotees hawking their wares. So I will begin. Smile

I have a 10.1" MSI Wind, which is old as now, and I love it. I use it for internet, video and old, non cpu intensive games. It's my main machine but it's also megally portable.

This is my one. I bought mine a year ago so it was more expensive with lower specs. I think the Asus E1000 (or something), is meant to be a lot better.

I highly recommend looking into a netbook as 13" laptops tend to be quite expensive (in my experience), though you get much better specs than a netbook. but a netbook will do 90% of what you need a computer to do.

Dell 11z. I don't know if it's in Korea yet.

Ahh here it is.

Core CPU and decent memory and storage. Larger than a netbook, but still under 1.5kg. No DVD drive though.

Not a bad option at all.
