Maybe it's just me not understanding the American education system, but isn't option 2 and 3 the same? And there are no options for higher degrees? |

I agree, the options are not that good on this poll. I would have gone with:
Post-graduate Degree (this would cover ppl with B.Ed/Masters/Doctrates)
4 Year Degree
3 Year Degree
Currently in a degree program
2 Year College
No post-secondary education
Oh well. |

Ok, I will agree the poll wasn't done properly to allow for all options.
My main issue was...do you or do you not have a degree ?
Maybe I should have just asked that instead.
I guess I was in the thinking of...how good are the options of getting contracts if you haven't finished your degree, and maybe getting the degree online once you're there ?
But, thanx to all who replied !! |

In the United States, there is no "three-year degree." All bachelor's degrees are implicitly four-year (associates two-year, master's two- to three-year, etc.), regardless of how long it took to complete the degree. I know nothing about the universities of the commonwealth nations, but in the U.S. the students freely make their own schedule from a catalog of available courses and need only to satisfy a core of requirements (usually 3/4 of their course load), and, therefore, may take as many electives as they choose and for as long as they like (usually).
missinmymind: A four-year degree (or bachelor's) is a requirement for the E2 visa, necessary for legal employment as an EFL instructor (unless you are eligible for other visas).

That's what I meant by the (no graduation) part I've read some places will hire if you don't have a degree but have completed at least 3 years from a university.
I should cancel the poll and just ask:
How good are the options of getting contracts if you haven't finished your degree, and maybe getting the degree online once you're there ? |

Pretty much most bachelor's degrees in the UK are three years unless you do a work placement or a year abroad. Everyone I know has had no problem getting a visa with a three year degree. |

Unless you graduate from a Scottish university. In most cases it takes 4 years to graduate (3 years for a degree, 4 years for an honours degree) but you still can graduate at the same time as other UK universities as you can matriculate at 17. 4 year degrees are starting to come inline with the rest of the UK, though. |

My first degree in Canada was a three-year bachelors, but most institutions have phased them out now for four-year ones. Mine did not do me very much good in the 90s as all the unis I wanted to transfer to required a lot of make-up work for a three-year degree. It would likely be fine for an E-2 in Korea, though. |
