So after MUCH searching for a job this year, I found an ad for Yeosu Public Schools, and now it seems I have a position through a K-recruiter. Pretty much your basic EPIK or GEPIK contract, although a BIG difference I see is the reference to "at least 2 weeks of camp in both summer and winter, NO extra pay." IMO this sucks, although it seems there would be no deskwarming beyond this. Being how f-ing difficult it has been to get a job this year in Kland, I may end up taking this or seomthing silmilar.
Has anyone worked for the Yeonsu PS system? Same ol' crap, better, worse? Any help is awesome. Thanks. |

thats normal....and it could also involve those camps and then desk warming.....or it could include those camps, plus more classes and then desk warming and all of the previous scenarios include no extra pay as long as you time at school falls withing the hours of regular working day............................the only thing that the contract provides is the paid vacation of 10 or 11 working days in the winter and summer....the rest of the time - they own your ass and they can make you sit for 8 hours or teach for 8 hours (for no extra pay). |

Eyeball Guy is right. Thats pretty much the new reality in PS programs throughout the country. The days of extra camp pay (unless it involves actual overtime) & slacktime free are history.
Maybe there are still a few isolated pockets where administrators missed the news, but not for long I bet. |
