Does anyone else get the impression that Islamic youth in Europe are more disaffected, more radical, and more militant than youth in actual Islamic countries?

That's because in their home countries, they get a lot more than tear gas and rubbet bullets when they start making problems.

Yes. And in their home countries, they aren't provided with money, housing, etc by the state, so they're too busy trying to scrap by than riot.

Which is why it is so rude. These non-contributing youts hail from a region of the world that prides itself on severe dysfunction and backwardness and they have the privilege to live in the most successful civilizations in the history of the world and not contribute to Europe's betterment and as a thanks they have carbqs on ramadamadingdong. They're overplaying their hand.

That you immediately see colour is not because you're making a clear-headed examination of the issue. The American obsession with race doesn't apply in Europe. Sweden did not import hundreds of thousands of slaves and then go on to treat them like cattle for a couple-three hundred years. Sweden imported their underclass for other reasons. You can't take American obsessions and apply them to anywhere but America.

You're the one making it a race issue. I'm saying that the riots in Europe are being done by people of all races, and people of all races will be making trouble in America. You're always complaining about immigrants rioting in Europe as if they're the only ones doing it. But who are the people rioting in the clips below?

Now that you've watched the links and seen European culture, you now know that the rioting immigrants have assimilated and have adopted European culture. Laughing

At best, your silly example would suggest they are assimilating into Europe's lovely hooligan and or violent leftists culture.

But a riot on a religious holiday where the muslims attack firetrucks, police and schools while setting fire to 500+ cars is quite different. And it will get worse and worse. Then (as is already starting to happen), the traditional European hooligans will find inspiration to try and solve a problem that their governments find it useful to ignore.

I know you're an American. It's hard, I know. But islam isn't a race. Not all problems have to do with race. It's an obnoxious American obsession. In Europe, the problem is religion and culture.

The violence by Europeans spans across the political spectrum, and it's not exactly a problem that's going away.

I realize that Islam isn't a race, but you Crying or Very sad non-stop about Hispanics, blacks, Natives, and Arabs that it's pretty obvious that you don't like Muslims because they're usually not white.

Do you work in the finance/insurance/real estate sector?

It is "pretty obvious" if the only tool you have is a race-obsessed hammer.

The Hispanic comment is quite entertaining. Same for Native. I'm indifferent to Arabs and Africans. My beef is with islam.

I suppose next you're gonna say I hate on gays for being honest about hiv? Do I hate women for being honest about the labour force participation break and lifetime income? Maybe I hate Jews, Protestants and Catholics because I use the pejorative 'bankster'?

Kinda, nah. Somewhat. We can't all be small farmers in Mississippi.

Ah but enough about me. The old lefty tool of making uncomfortable discussions personal will not work. If you're obsessed with me, you can keep it to you.

What is entertaining is to read a white guy working in the financial sector in North America categorically blaming other demographics for problems in the world. Now that is funny. Laughing

In the United States, Blacks and Hispanics (of the 'native' variety) will never, ever, ever match Jews, whites, East Asians and South Asians in earning power and other measures of social health. The black family isn't in crises. It simply does not exist.

I agree with you 100%, but if you were fromtheuk, the Muslim teacher from Europe, you'd probably be appalled at the whole thread instead of waiting until my previous post. Wink

I hadn't been following the thread. I just opened it and noticed your last post. My response is purely casual.

What I will say is mises is right about how Muslim immigrants being disruptive. And given these are people whose quality of life has been upjumped substantially by the country that generously allowed them to immigrate, they have no legitimate reason to be disruptive.

With all this going on are people still wondering why the Ks are so leery of liberal immigration policies and such...I mean I know we are all such wonderful people and all, but the 'know-nothings' here and in other countries can have a point sometimes. Mass-immigration can cause significant social upheaval that is not always in the end beneficial (although it can be)

It takes a special land and culture to be opening towards immigrants and I don't think it's 'wrong' for older, ethnically homogeneous nations to be anti-mass immigration, though I do think it is wrong for the people in those countries to be anti-immigrant.

He's a muslim fundamentalist, by his own description. A koranic literalist, in his own words. For an example of what a literal belief in the Korean involves see:

http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/Quran/int/long.html

Page after page.. To believe that fundamentally.. Literally. Wow. Twisted.

And is currently on the dole, waiting for a visa to work in Saudi where he figures he'll find more cultural comfort. A British muslim welfare recipient who aspires to a life in Saudi (!) Arabia doesn't help your team, but mine.

Holland is trying to make some small changes here and there:

http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2009/10/foreign_brides_face_tougher_im.php
Quote:
The cabinet is to introduce tougher rules for marriage-related immigration, justice minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin and integration minister Eberhard van der Laan announced on Friday.

At the moment, foreign brides must be at least 21 years old but this may be increased to 24, Nos tv reports.

Although the 21-year age limit was introduced in 2004 by former justice minister Rita Verdonk, the media claim girls as young as 15 are still allowed in to the Netherlands as brides.

Foreign brides also face tougher language and integration tests in their home countries before they can come to the Netherlands under the new proposals. It is unclear if this will apply to all would-be immigrants.
