Hey all,

It's that time of year again and I am currently working on my yearly CMA (competitive market analysis). I'd like to know if the university you work for has the 3-year policy in place (you know, 3 years max. for non-tenured professors). If so, it'd be great if you could please tell me (or PM me) the name of your university and the city in which it is in. I'd really appreciate it. As I said, if you don't want to post up info. on here, please feel free to PM me. Thus far, I know that Yonsei Seoul doesn't have that policy. I know Halla University in Wonju has it. I know Yonsei Wonju has it as well.

Thanks guys! I'll keep this up, this thread bumped, for a couple of days.

Me.

Not posting my uni's name, nor pm-ing it, but I don't have any term limits where I work.

Now, that doesn't help what I am trying to do now does it? You could tell me where your friend works and how it is there!

The University I worked for until 2008 had no term limits either. A few Foreign Teachers have been there for over 5-6 years.

Like Hanson, not going to say which University it is on an online forum nor pm that information to someone I do not know.

Still, no term limits there.

email perhaps? I could really use the information and these vague references aren't helping. I'm in a position to possibly change conventional thought here and this information can help.

Laughing Good point. I'm just gathering info. That's all. I've been asked to by my director because she doesn't believe that other unis. don't have a 3-year limit. anyways, nevermind. I just don't get why you would post if you weren't willing to help. It makes no sense other than to be like, "na na, I'm not telling you." That's just how it came off.

My uni has no limit. People have been here 7 or 8 years.

Cuban its not " na na na but I won't tell you".

It shows you there are universities in Korea that do not have term limits.

Instead of doing this through a public forum why not contact say 10-15 universities in Korea and send an email to the Foreign Instructors there to complete your survey?

I am contacting other unis. I just know there are many more people on here that work in unis. I was hoping to broaden my scope. I guess not. Oh well. This thread is as good as dead. Thanks anyways.

The problem is, some of us would rather not even give our schools the idea.

I guess for some people that might be an issue indeed.

That's actually a really good question...I've heard that recently Korea put in a new 2 year law that limits you to 2 years at one place; however, people are grandfathered in if the law happened after you already worked there. I work for a company and I've been told that I can only stay 2 years. Anyone know anything about that? Is that company policy or really a law?

It's a trap!

Yeah, remember when some people at public school weren't getting extra vacation and they pointed at other people who did get extra vacation as justification but then what actually happened was that those people had their privileges revoked and now the Education Offices send people around to make sure no one gets extra vacation ever?

Geez, you expect people to tell you the names of their schools?? Are you MODEDIT crazy??
