Hi all. I have my E2 Visa from my Japan Visa Run on my passport..
So I have about 2 months left to get my ARC... HOWEVER!!!
I'm leaving Korea for 3 days in about 10 days time and so I was told today that i need my ARC Card to apply for the Multiple Re-Entry Visa... Otherwise my E2 Visa will be canceled. Can anybody confirm this? I didn't know that a person needed the ARC card to get the Re- Entry Visa.. Thought the Visa on my passport was enough!
This has caused me some big stress now..
I've called the Help Center for foreigners regarding Immigration but well I'm still confused.. They did mention that the Card could be fast tracked if I explained my situation..
What should I need to get exactly and straight away?
I'm working in an After-school Program at a public Elementary School.. Does this mean that my employer is the Ministry of Education??
I will go for a medical tomorrow morning to an International Clinic..but what do I need exactly. I think it is just two things..
The HIV test and the Drugs test.. Is this ALL i need?? The results will take about 3/4 days at least I think. That gives me one week to get my E2 visa..errr its going to be tight and inside the time usually for them to be issued..
Can anybody please let me know what steps I should take to ensure I get my ARC card ASAP????
Thank You! |

I went to SNU once for my medical and got the results back the next day. Just go somewhere that knows about the E2 visa medical test. They take a chest X-ray, you urine and blood, weigh you, take your height, etc. Some may do an eye test and measure your chest. Anyway, just as long as they know what test you need. Take the results to immigration right away with your passport and explain to them that you need the card by a certain date. Usually takes no more than a week, but I'm sure they can do it the same day, if they're willing to. Maybe. |

I believe you can just go to the immigration office at the airport when you leave. You pay a small fee, get a stamp and can re-enter.
I had an American passport with a multiple reentry visa, but that was stolen. I got a replacement passport without the visa stamp, and for a while I had to do this process whenever I left the country until I got a new visa stamp. |

Don't leave the country with out your ARC and a multiple re-entry visa. Your visa will be cancelled, and you will not be allowed to work. You'll have to re-enter on a tourist visa.. It will be a big headache. They don't look too kindly on not telling immigration anything. |
