I think I'm going to get cable TV and was wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions. Someone mentioned Skynet? |

I don't think its worth it. Apparently all the English channels that we'd actually watch have been tiered up to more expensive packages that most people wouldn't like to pay for.
Either get a Slingbox thingy or TV-Out so you can connect your TV to your computer. |

Cable is junk. You'll have 3-4 movie channels who've been playing the same stuff the last few years, probably no English news.....but you'll have a heap of KTV to choose from. I got it purely for football and it was better than nothing. (TVU and other sites are unreliable)
DVD shops seem very much on the wane too.
May I recommend a book? |

I have skylife but I have more than just the basic package. I pay 20K a month to get the extra English and cartoon channels.. mind you I rarely watch TV, it's mostly for my daughter.
It's difficult for an expat to get skylife here because they require you to pay a pretty hefty deposit. My ex-husband got it while we were still married and I haven't transferred it to my name because of said deposit and the whole complication of it all...
But if you can get a Korean friend to help you with it, then it's worth it, IMHO. |

You have to buy the dish vs. them giving you one, which is 2-300K, then the deposit is another 200K I think?
Not really sure, but I think people here have talked about it before. |

KT Kook (Mega) TV is okay. With Mega pass light I get OCN, OCN series, Super Action OCN, Mplex, AXN, MGM, CNN, BBC News, Fox news, Sky HD, History channel, National geo 1 and now seemingly two new sports channels that I've just noticed IPSN and Sports 1. |

Try either:
Toll free number: 080-2580-001

or
1588-8448 + press #1 for product consulting
I pay about 60,000 won a month but this includes my internet as well. |

I have Hello TV from CJ cable. It includes my internet and phone line too. I think it costs about 35,000 a month.
For channels I get: OCN, CGV, Super Action, XTM, Screen, MGM, Fox, Fox Life, Q Channel, On Style, two Disney channels, BBC International, BBC Entertainment, BBC Knowledge, Discovery, CNN, ABC (Australian channel)and probably some others that I am missing. It's a pretty good package. |

is that the same KT that does the mega pass internet? i already have their internet so maybe i could combine? did you have to sign some 3 year contract?
i've run into that alot lately.
i found c&m has 50,000 won deposit- 44,000 installation fee and sign up for 6 months. then its like 14,000 a month. |
