Hi all.
So myself and a friend have been contacted by a school named "GIA English School". We've received the contract, and although it's brutal, we've been given the leeway to make changes (or so we've been told).

The red-flags are this:
When I asked to speak to a previous English teacher, I was told that there were none. The school has been around for 10 years, but only now are they implementing an English program. It will be myself, my friend, and another applicant who is coming in December.

It involves a Visa-run and they want us there ASAP. If this new program was starting up, wouldn't they have found someone well in advance?

Thoughts?
Thanks

It's a crap shoot but the fact that it's called GIA ENGLISH SCHOOL and they claim to have no previous english teachers despite being around for 10 years is odd. Perhaps they were called something else before they added english studies to their curriculum?

I'm not a fan of the 'get here asap do a visa run' thing personally, but a friend of mine did that last year as the first english teacher at a start up hagwon and it turned out really great for him. He loved the school, being able to design the curriculum, and he got paid really well until the school went belly up and had to close.

Ask them as many specific questions as you can.
