So I checked the price on toptravel.co.kr for a trip to bangkok over christmas, and the price was great. Then I saw they have a English version of the website too, so I was more excited. But then...

When i did the same search on the english side, the same cheap flights are not available. In fact it didn't even have the same airline (Cathay) come up in the search.

Do they really hate foreigners this much or is there another reason I'm failing to see?

There's a new low cost airline going to Bangkok. There are called Jin Air.
They can probably beat the other airlines price, if you buy your ticket early.
They used to have an English website, but now I can only find Korean.

As for your original comment. I have often (99%) found that English versions of Korean websites don't have full functionality.

reminds me of when I lived in Japan and the main travel site/agent there called H.I.S ......rip off when English speakers called by. Quoted different prices to Japanese natives.

What kind of reply are you expecting? While I agree with the 'rip-off' observation in regards to English/Korean sites, the question you pose at the end is a bit asinine.

I regularly search through onlinetour.co.kr, though, and have found the same prices to Kuala Lumpur for the same flight on the Air Malaysia site for 522k which is a bit cheaper than the English websites (Kayak, for example, has the same flight for $594 ) So I wouldn't say that all these flights are unavailable.

Yup, they're all out to get you. Check under your bed every night for the price-gauging monsters.

Try using the Korean version to buy the tickets. Download the Google Translate toolbar and convert Korean to English easily and see if that works.

I can never get my American C.C. to work on those sites, but could just be my card.

Ok so I had a korean friend create a profile to login to the korean site, and we tried to buy the tickets but they emailed and said that price/flight was no longer available. Yet when you do a search for the flights again, they still show it as available. Incredible. Misleading much?

Well, smart guy who has nothing better to do then to mock people, I was simply putting the word out about a companies shady business practices so other people don't waste their time. I also was attempting to find out if anyone else had dealt with them before and had similar experiences. If my petty posting makes you feel that way, why do you read it? Don't waste my time, and I won't waste yours. I hope you can hear all this from your high horse dude.

No, you're showcasing your ignorance and perpetuating xenophobic absurdities as evidenced by the asinine assertions you've made in two of your posts. Congrats.

hahahaha Throwing in a few big words you just looked up in your dictionary doesn't prove any points. You are making statements not backed up by any proof or evidence.

My assertions backed up by your statements:

Ok, so the first statement was me just saying that it was misleading that they post flights as available when they actually are not available. Is this incorrect of me to say?

Second, of course I don't really think they hate foreigners, I was joking when I said that. My main point was to find out why they would do such a thing. Seems inconsistent to me. Things like this are generally of interest to consumers. Call me crazy.
