I've always thought the Tories were the more sensible, more capable of the two. I was distrustful of 'New' Labour right from the get go due to their media circus pre election compaign in 90's, the branding, Blairs cheesy slogans and sound bites, the crass campaign posters the put up in the streets (I clearly remember one that offered the election to the public as a boxing match, very cheesy and very obviously catering for the lower denominator of our society...)

Now the tories come out not promising tax cuts, but in fact austerity, not trying to sell us on anything other than common sense.. I know how my vote is going...

I voted Labour either twice or thrice - can't remember - but certainly in '97 and the one after.

But I'll be voting Tory henceforth, for sure.

If you can't see that 'Dave' is a re-packaged circa 1997 Tony Blair, then you want your head seeing to.

Good luck with that referendum on the EU that the tories have no intentions of giving out to the British public. (Not that I am paticulary bothered as my vote would always be 'yes' to staying within the EU)

What people seem to forget that it was 18 years of tory rule that has got us in this shitstate we are currently in.

Tony Blair was a conman extraodinaire - he took valuable lessons from Bill Clinton - you don't have to do what you promise - just as long as you say it with aplomb and with a big cheesy grin. People are blaming Gordon Brown when in fact he has just been the caretaker of 10 Downing Street until the next general election.

I would never ever vote for the conservative party but don't blame anyone putting their cross against the tories for this one - don't expect anything different thats all.

It makes no difference, the government will still get in.

Thatcher reached too far... then Blair reached too far.. and now the Tories will have another bash. Thesis - Antithesis - Synthesis. If someone decent leads Labour for the 5 years they might just get straight back in.
