Something else should be wrapped around your head.

i hate cooking/dishes and eat out all the time (kimbap places, 3-5000, per meal) |
Seaweed and rice is not even bait.

Lots... but I have an oven and understand the 'magic' of compound interest.

just curious, cause western food from costco seems expensive and the last time i made jigae it was actually more expensive to buy everything and cook for one (not to mention the much lower satisfaction value) |
Never mind... I'll be banned from 'Dave's' for violaton of the TOS if I comment on this one.

If you think K-land is good, try Tae-gook... or even better Lao. |

Just strangee... only slightly confused and bewildered.
WTF is happening? I have a couple of questions:
Will Immi stop me on the way out if I owe wong-jong-nim-babo for my degi flu shots?
When I'm detained for overstaying my visa, how long is the grace period if I haven't done anything wrong? |

Costco seems expensive but it's so much food that it ends up being cheap. I bought a large package of chicken breast and it has lasted me 4 weeks already. I also eat pasta and eggs and sandwiches. I think it ends up being much cheaper than eating out. |

laws were made by beings that were born to err. so how can they all be right???
i say do all the back-alley deals you can get away with.....as long as you're not hurting anybody else. |

so are you saying he can save 2.5 million on a salary of 2.1? Or were you just taking the oportunity to have a bit of a brag? |
Or he's saying that if he can save 2.5 a month with 3 kids and a wife then the OP can save half his pay.
Me saying I save 2.5 mil with two kids and a wife, who doesn't work, would be bragging:P |

Right on brother. Give it to the man before he gives it to you. I actually
work part time on an E7 visa and I pay about 2-3% income tax on that.
The other work is all done in Freelance Alley.
I don't trust politicians in upstanding western countries. I certainly don't
trust them here. And I also have absolutely no compulsion to make
the Mr. Kims and Mr. Lees of this country any money....AT ALL.
Anarchy man. |

You can save as much money here as you want. At least 10 million won, I'd say, but, provided you earn a nice salary, 20, 30, or even 50 million won per year is possible. |

Show me how a TEACHER by HIMSELF can save 50 million won per year...
I am sincerely curious about the budget involved and more to the point the salary the Teacher needs to make... |

You'd only have to be making 5 million a month to save 50million a year, that trinidad guy claims he's making that much, why don't you ask him? |

Saving 50 million alone as a teacher would be difficult, sure, but not impossible. If you teach TOEFL, SAT, and other difficult subjects at a boutique hagwon or teach in the overseas programs at the elite FLHSs, you could easily make 5 million won a month or more, which, with year-end bonus, would put you over 65 million for the year. Spending about 500k a month on rent and just under a million for everything else each month would allow you to save close to or over 50 million. Probably virtually nobody does this, but it is possible. |

You can expect to live on 600,000 to 1,000,000 Won, depending on lifestyle. The important thing is that you make your money and get out before you turn into a lifer, bragging about your savings of won/month. |

A friend of mine was making 80,000 per hour doing AP classes, and he was working 20 hours a week in the busy times.
That's about 6.4 million from the extra work.
I say extra because he had a uni gig...it paid like 3.2 or 3.3 a month.
So over 9.5 million in the busy months... true story...and to be honest...the months weren't that busy in total. |

Sweet But you have to remember that when you enter into Freelance
Alley, if you don't work, you don't earn. But I think, in the end, it is well
worth it.
9.5M/mo. Wow, pretty soon it is Easy Street for the rest of your life
in Thailand or the Philipines. |
