There are some verbs that have have the same past and past participle forms.
_____ cut, hit, hurt, put

Which should go in the above blank, ex OR e.g. ? Or are both of them equally acceptable these days? My dictionary does list ex (both lowercase, no period) as an abbreviation for example, exchange, executive, express, and extra.

Thanks for your opinion.

"e.g." should be used only within parentheses. Otherwise, say "for example."
