Hi all: I have passport and original copy of diploma. I saw somewhere that the final transcript from the college I graduated from is not enough, that they want transcripts from all the colleges I attended and over the course of many years that was many. Any thoughts? Also, will I need to take the original copy of diploma to the nearest Korean embassy to get notarized or can I get it notarized in Nashville? OR do I need to get it notarized at all? The regional embassy is in Atlanta, which is fairly close. However, I was under the impression that I could get the apostille documents from the capitol city of my state which is in Nashville where I live. I am getting confused.

Thanks

The best answer to the transcript question would come from your Registrar's Office where you graduated. They may have incorporated all of them into their system since they needed to verify those credits or you would have taken them all over again. Call your last Registrar to see if this is the case or if you have to start collecting them all.

Every state handles the apostille process a little differently, so your best bet is to go to the horse's mouth:

One thing you want to make sure of is that your degree is copied for the apostille and that you aren't sending Korea the original. That may require a notary signature and seal, but from what I see of the Tennessee Dept. of State website, a county clerk is involved too. Call your county office and ask them what they need. Will they make the copy of your original to take/send to Nashville? Or do you need to see a Notary Public first? Take your degree with you. The purpose of the apostille to to make the COPY as good as a true original.

It's a good idea to have your CBC done at the same time, or you'll be repeating the process.

Thank you.

The college I graduated from incorporated all the classes I had taken elsewhere so they are all on the transcript from the graduating institution.

Ok I think I get the above. But I also wonder what Korea needs as far as the criminal background. I guess I will call the number posted. I've called it once.

SO, my guess is I don't have to travel to the Korean embassy in Atlanta.

Thanks for your help. Can anyone recommend a decent recruiter? Sorry but once you get a live one it's hard to let go Smile
