I've called Pita Time tonight and last night hoping to make an order for delivery. Unfortunately, no one is picking up the phone. Does anyone know if they still do deliveries around the Itaewon and Haebangchon area? Just wondering what's going on. Thanks.

We stopped by the Itaewon location today and there was nothing there. The suits guy said they moved and will be opening somewhere else soon. Sad

I liked them, but every time I went in there, I was the only one. I think once there was another foreigner.

I wasn't sure if they were popular or not. Plus, it'd be kind of easy to walk right past the joint and not notice it unless you were looking for it.

I think with all the kebab places, they just got lost in the crowd.

Btw, what happened to the Hard Rock Cafe? That place was open for all of 10 minutes before they closed it down? I hadn't been to Itaewon in a while, then last week I noticed a giant generator where the door used to be. I thought a funky Americana style place like that would be more popular.

Maybe there is just so much selection in Itaewon already, and I thought the prices were a little high for what it was.

The K girls who worked there when I went there didn't know how to make a pita either...

Yeah, they are moving, but as far as I know, they don't have a new location yet. Some other person wanted their location and offered a decent amount of money for them to just get out, so they did.

It takes a special brand of mediocre management to have a HRC fail in such a heavily populated tourist area. From the day they opened and had some puffed up gyopo outside telling passersby that Itaewon was "crap" and that the HRC was the only place to be they were doomed to fail.

They also had no signage. If you walked by the venue, you would have no idea that there was a restaurant downstairs.

As they were in a downward spiral, a group of local musicians offered to host their "battle of the bands" events there. HRC management's response? "Give us $10,000 first."

The people behind the HRC took a world famous brand image and a spectacular venue with incredible foot traffic in one of the most developed tourist areas next to a massive US military base, with virtually no competition from other "western establishments" and managed to sink the ship in less than a year.

That's EPIC fail material if I've ever seen it.

i've always thought that pita time was an excellent compliment to itaewon. i really miss the place now that i can't get there more frequently. it'd be a shame if it doesn't open again somwhere else. there have been a lot of changes with the rmt guys in the past year, and i hope that they continue to stick around and help us out with bigger and better options.

and why are we going out of our way to point out that the workers were "k girls"? does it really matter what nationality their employees are? anyone who's been there knows they employ(ed) koreans. if they weren't korean, i might see the logic in pointing it out, but still . . .

I love Pita Time! Hope it comes back soon. Best falafels. Didn't even know it closed.

As for Hard Rock, totally agree that it was massively mismanaged. It seemed to be always busy on the weekends. Don't know what happened. Food was good there and the bar on a Saturday night was quite fun. Shame really.

I teach my students that descriptive writing is better than vague writing. I bet most people on Dave's haven't been there.

fair enough. i guess i'm just getting sick of constantly reading "k guy/girl." i never said anything about most people on dave's, but since we're going down that road, am i now to assume that someone working in a shop in korea isn't korean unless it is specifically stated that he/she is?

I incidentally used the term 'K girls', because no western employee would drench any sandwich with 1/2 cup of Italian sauce. They probably had never had anything with the sauce on it, and therefore weren't familiar with the appropriate application.

Maybe the staff got more used to how much of an ingredient to put into a pita as time went on, but the truth is, there are other options in Itaewon, and have never ventured back in there to try my luck.

Also, the best fallafel that I've found in Itaewon is at Petra. It's so good that I have to eat two pitas.

It has moved to Hae Bang Chon. Just up the street from the Indigo cafe.

I ordered delivery from the one in HBC, and it took them an hour. The food wasn't hot anymore when it came. Then, both of us got sick. I will never eat there again.
