That's interesting: I bought one at Minneapolis airport a few weeks ago and have yet to manage to install it. I must have another go now I know it's not just me ....

The torrent I got was pretty straightforward and didn't require anything special. Just install, skip the activation and use it. Here are the instructions, I've done it twice:

Quote:

** Rosetta Stone v3.3.5 for Windows **

1. Install the application by running RosettaStoneSetup.exe

2. Once installed, copy RosettaStoneVersion3.exe from the Crack folder
to the installation folder.

The activation screen will still appear but just click "Activate Later";
you will be able to fully use any installed language packs regardless of
their activation status.

Also, make sure you don't update or register if it asks you to.

what do you think of Rosetta Stone? Personally I have seen/used two Rosetta Stones and they were pretty crap. I imagine the Korean version is the same format.....might learn bits of vocab but very little in grammar to put anything into proper use. Certainly not worth PAYING for....yep if you must have it, find a torrent.

The old Korean Rosetta Stone was terrible. Nothing but rapid fire vocabulary. Choose the matching one out of 4 pictures.

The new one is much better. It has better sections and better progression. The first rosetta stone didn't even include anything about 한글 it was billed as a beginner's level, but apparently you were expected to know how to read Korean before hand.

You can see the interface there. Each level has 4 units, each unit has all that content.

This new one also uses the mic to analyze your speaking (not sure how accurate it is). I had my Korean friend test it out and its not exact. It looks for a certain pattern in your voice, but it failed the first few times on my friend until they matched the speed at which they wanted the word said. Once they got the speed to match, they matched up every time.

Exactly, version 3 includes voice recognition to practice and can set you up with yearly curriculum for each level.
It's quite spectacular the jump from V2 to V3.
