This is the second or third time this has happened to me in 2 different public schools. I am wondering if this is typical.

I was told the head English teacher has been put in charge of collecting some documents about the teachers in the school (collecting data about degree earned, any certificates etc). Then she sends this stuff in to the boe or some government place.

It seems routine enough, but this time around my Korean coteacher didn't get run down to do this. There may be a legit reason (she has been working a month and a half and she doesnt even have a contract or anything yet, so maybe they are not reporting her due to that).

I work for a private company in a public school (2 public schools). It's the public school head teacher that is collecting this information (not anyone from my private company).

This is typical in a public school?

This is very typical. It'S also typical for them to demand a big list of documents "Bali Bali".

I thought it seemed routine, but it just struck me as odd when my co teacher didn't need to do it but my previous co teacher needed to do it.

Just wanted to check!

Yea, she slammed 5 excel sheets on my desk all in Korean and they are due today. I just kind of laughed. I am going home in 50 mins. I don't work in this school again until wednesday. She tried to get me to do it last friday but I didn't work here on friday. This women has been getting shafted trying to find me.

Thanks! Very Happy

Depends? I am not sure what is required on the sheets and if I have the information with me. If it's something I can whip out in 5-10 mins I will.

What exactly is this info used for anyway? Just records down in some government file system to rot away, or what?

Wow, I'm guessing everyone got asked for their information today? Way to wait until the last minute, co-teachers!

I also was frantically asked...when did you graduate, what is your degree?...even though they have a copy of it. I cannot blame them though, that stylized font would be hard to read for ANYONE.

They have to fill out all these forms with all your information every year.

Every year I tell them my information is exactly the same as last year!... Laughing

It gets a bit tireing that the KGB wants to know everything about you year after year. I already told them everything they needed to know last year....and the year before that. Can't they keep it on file somewhere?
It amounts to intrusive and excessive surveillance.

Send them a nude photo of yourself, in a compromising position, with one of your student's mothers. Then you won't be so board, dear boy!

Don't worry about it.
I think today it's because they are trying to register more teachers with the NEIS system, which is kind of an electronic teacher reporting system... for absences/transfers/etc. i believe.
