I'm heading to Seoul soon and was wondering how the poker scene was there. Is texas hold'em popular and what are the buy-ins?
Thanks.

I'd like to know too, but if anyone has a set of chips and some cards...we could always try to get a group together for a game.

Hey Designated Driver,

Have you considered the fact that the search option might have been down at some point?

For the record, I have no idea who Gus and Daniel are. I play for recreational purposes...and if I make some money, it happens.

My poker face looks like this: Very Happy

How would they know if we were playing for fun or for money? Or for girls? Or for valium? I heard you were a huge fan of pain pills, right? Twisted Evil

whether you're willing to believe it or not, a group of foreigners were busted, jailed, fined and deported, i think, for a private poker game in haebangchon. it was all over the news too. games may be happening every night, but those of us who play regularly are far more discreet these days.

What happened to the guys that got busted? Aren't foreigners allowed to gamble anyway?

DM just said that they got pretty harsh punishment, so I guess there's always the casino!

Or we have to find this "discreet" circle of players..

Whatever, I am arriving in Seoul next week, I'm sure I'll figure it out.

yeah, I posted that question a minute after DM's post. I guess we were typing at the same time. Uhh, maybe home games aren't such a good idea. I don't want to go to jail over a poker game.

just be smart. the odds of you getting caught are very low, but it is now painfully obvious that sometimes the wrong people are watching. the days of grabbing a corner table in a bar and playing a few hands are over.

How do you win 9 million, when the biggest prize given to the monthly tournament winner averages around 4 million??

Just curious....
