Why buy used?
If you have a paypal account you can buy a new vacuum on Gmarket. We bought a Cyking (has received consistently great reviews) for under 100,000W. No more bags, and small as anything. Powerful, too. There are cheaper vacuums on Gmarket, just not as powerful or they require bags.
All you need is a paypal account, your alien reg, and you're set to shop. Use Google Language tools to help you translate what you're looking for. And guess what? You can register and order in English, too!
You can find insanely cheap things on there...sometimes half the price of retail and many times at the same price that people try to sell on this forum. If someone has something for sale on here, always check Gmarket and Danawa to see what the average going rate is... |

It's pretty tough to plug something in when you buy it on the street.
Also, I am aware that I could buy a vacuum on Gmarket. I am not retarded. I wanted to get a great deal. I got hosed. I was merely pointing out that this woman sold me a vacuum that does not work. If you would rather she keep selling people faulty things without any warning, fine. I'll keep my mouth shut. |

It is a cordless chargeable one and I made sure it was charged... He could have checked it out right there on the street when I delivered it if he wanted to... |

Usually if something doesn't work, we throw it out...like our last vacuum (which cost about 100,000W). If it's repairable we'll fix it...like the time we burned the counter on our kitchen island and had the counter replaced...
I guess it's buyer beware...and always check what you buy before you pay.
Perhaps ESL Cafe ought to have some sort of seller rating/review so that people can see how reliable "sellers" are. While the expat community seems like a revolving door on this forum, there are some of us here who have been here a few years...
In any case, sorry to hear you got a bad deal...
As a buyer on this forum, or any non-paying forum, you need to watch out for dishonesty and as a seller you need to watch out for low-ballers. A tough market... |
