I'm considering doing an MA in Korean studies here (please, spare the snark). Does anyone know if it's possible/legal to enroll at a university here (assuming classes don't interfere with working hours) while maintaining a normal E2 teaching job?

My buddy is doing just that (except he's in an MBA program) still on his E2 and teaching every day.

Thanks for the reply. Is your friend attending full- or part-time?

Not sure what Korean Uni's consider full or part time. But he's there two nights a week and a couple hours a day on Saturday.

Kind of pain to get into he said. Gotta get your school to sign off on it and get all the paper work to immigration and completed before classes start. Considering the reputation Korean Uni's have abroad, I wouldn't ever do it. Unless you're planning on working in Korea, I don't think it would be that handy. About the only thing good with it is the already super low tuition, plus the "foreigner discount."

Yes. This was just changed this summer. Now it is possible for you to enter a university without having to change you visa. See the following link for more information.

Going from an E-2 to a C-3 student visa seems a bit more difficult. In my case I was told I will have to go to Osaka after my visa expires and it takes 2-3 days to process it.
